Gynecologic Specialties

Our diverse team of gynecologists offers consultative and treatment services for a comprehensive range of complex gynecologic disorders. We care for women of all ages across the entire community, including those who are underserved. We have expertise in an array of conditions, including those that are precancerous, require minimally invasive surgery, or other advanced medical or surgical treatments.

Our clinical expertise in prevention, screening, and diagnosis of gynecologic cancers, prevention and treatment of gynecologic infections, fibroid management, contraceptive services, and treatment of women with HIV are just a few examples of areas in which we are proud to be making a difference in our community.

Our Team

In addition to providing and expanding access to specialized gynecologic care, we are dedicated to training the next generation of gynecologists, and are actively involved with Yale New Haven Hospital leadership in efforts to standardize quality and enhance efficiency in how we deliver care.

We have spearheaded efforts to improve surgical instrumentation, and developed a unified system for reporting and reviewing surgical complications across all three hospital surgical sites. We regularly develop and launch clinical standards to ensure the gynecologic care at all hospitals is consistently delivered according to the most recent evidence for best practices.

Our Approach

We are committed to working closely with local community-based health centers and providers in other medical specialties to ensure coordination of timely and appropriate care for our patients. We have introduced a number of quality improvement initiatives in our cervical cancer screening program to improve clinical follow-up and management of abnormal Pap smears.

We focus on treating:

  • Veterans. Our physicians provide specialty gynecologic care and surgery for female veterans from across Connecticut and southern Massachusetts in the Connecticut Veterans Administration Health Care System.
  • Women at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs):Working side-by-side with midwives, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, our physicians provide primary and specialty gynecologic care at New Haven’s two FQHCs (Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center and Fair Haven Community Health Center).
  • Uninsured:Women without health insurance face large barriers to obtaining specialty services. We participate with Project Access New Haven to provide free surgical services to uninsured women in need of gynecologic care.
