Yale Medicine’s Epilepsy and Seizure Center is known for clinical excellence and cutting-edge research, and for providing promising options for many adult and pediatric patients. Our program, one of the nation’s first, is internationally recognized for its innovative approach to treatment for medically intractable and new-onset epilepsy. Recognizing that 6% of the pediatric population experiences at least one seizure in a lifetime, we are committed to understanding the nature of seizure disorders in children. We are also leaders in innovative surgery for medically intractable epilepsy.
State-of-the-art technology for continuous brain and video monitoring of seizures in infants and children is a central component of a comprehensive evaluation and treatment program for children with epilepsy. Our multidisciplinary program includes neurosurgeons, epileptologists, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, and nursing and technology staff. We offer outpatient facilities, a pediatric epilepsy monitoring unit, and a technologically advanced operating suite.
