Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) Treatment with N-acetylcysteine (NAC) (SNAC)

The SNAC Study is evaluating N-acetylcysteine (NAC), an over-the-counter dietary supplement, as a potential treatment for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). This supplement has been shown to improve the regulatory function of the immune system, with the purpose of seeing improvement of lupus disease activity.

Participation includes study visits, health assessments, and blood sample collection. An initial phase helps determine a tolerated NAC dose, followed by randomization to NAC or placebo.
