Birth Control Implant Study

  • Study IRB#:2000040944
  • Last Updated:08/09/2026

Are you a healthy female aged 18-45 and not planning on becoming pregnant in the next three years? Help us advance women's health by joining our study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of placing birth control implants (etonogestrel implants) in the shoulder (scapula). As a participant, you will undergo a health screening, agree to use a secondary form of birth control during the study, have the implant placed in your lower shoulder by a trained physician, keep a paper diary and attend follow-up visits every six months for the next 36 months. Each visit involves a blood draw, health check, and assessment of the implant's placement. Compensation for your time is up to $450.

Interested? Reach out to us for more information or you can take the pre-screening survey through the link below to see if you qualify.
