FOReCAST (Financial Outlook thRough CAncer STorytelling): Protecting Young Women from Breast Cancer-Related Financial Toxicity Through a Novel Video-Based Intervention.

Cancer-related financial hardship has been associated with a greater risk of bankruptcy, treatment non-adherence, poor physical and mental well-being, and early death. As a result, financial toxicity is now recognized as a major side effect of cancer treatment, experienced by up to 70% of patients and their families. Our study aims include: Aim 1: To develop the FOReCAST video-based intervention by recruiting and recording women ages 18-45 with stage 0-III breast cancer sharing their lived experiences of breast cancer-related financial hardship and strategies for navigation, along with other stigmatized topics such as sexuality, body image, mental health, and family challenges. Aim 2. To test FOReCAST for usability, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy as part of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Early Onset Breast Cancer Care Signature Pathway.

Eligibility Criteria
Women ages 18-45 with stage 0-III breast cancer interested in sharing their lived experiences of breast cancer-related financial hardship and strategies for navigation, along with other stigmatized topics such as sexuality, body image, mental health, and family challenges.
