Dynamic brain mechanisms of stress, affect, and memory

  • Study HIC#:2000037109
  • Last Updated:05/23/2025

This is a research study on the brain, emotion, and memory. Study procedures will include: an intake visit to complete questionnaires and 2 fMRI sessions during which you will view pictures while listening to narratives. Both visits are followed by a session in which you are asked about your memory for what you encountered during the MRI scan, and 4 weeks of prompts on your smartphone in which you report your feelings, memories, and any alcohol drinking.

We are recruiting community volunteers who are social users of alcohol AND individuals with alcohol use disorder. The main purpose of this study is to understand how our brains help us process and remember different types of information.
