ACE Multisite Study of Adolescent & Adult Transitions

  • Study HIC#:2000024998
  • Last Updated:02/22/2024

The purpose of this longitudinal study is to examine gender differences and the transition to young adulthood in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This study will advance our understanding of why ASD affects more males than females and why ASD affects females in ways that are different from males. Further, the longitudinal design of this study will help researchers understand brain development over time and guide future recommendations for optimizing the transition to young adulthood among people with ASD.

Participants with or without ASD may be asked to do an fMRI scan, electroencephalogram (EEG), blood draw, saliva collection, questionnaires, and/or behavioral assessments. Parents may be asked to complete questionnaires, an interview, and a blood draw.

At this time, ACE is only enrolling participants who took part in Wave 1 of this longitudinal study (2013-2016).

  • Age12 years - 35 years
  • GenderBoth
