Yellow fever is a viral infection transmitted by the bite of infected Aedes or Haemagogus species mosquitoes. It is characterized by the sudden onset of fever, chills, headache, back pain, and muscle aches, followed by jaundice due to liver damage. In severe cases, it can lead to hemorrhagic fever, organ failure, and death.
