A wearable cardioverter-defibrillator (WCD) is a portable, non-invasive device designed to continuously monitor the heart rhythm and automatically deliver a therapeutic electrical shock to restore normal heart rhythm in patients at risk of sudden cardiac arrest due to life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias.
