Vacuum-Assisted Core Biopsy

Definition

Vacuum-assisted core biopsy is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure that uses a vacuum-powered instrument to collect multiple tissue samples from a suspicious area, such as a breast lump or an abnormality detected on an imaging study. This technique allows for larger samples to be collected with fewer needle insertions, resulting in less discomfort and faster recovery for the patient.
