Trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition in which a finger or thumb gets stuck in a bent position due to inflammation and narrowing of the tendon sheath. The affected digit may suddenly snap or pop straight, resembling the action of pulling and releasing a trigger.
