Transthoracic Radiofrequency Ablation
Definition
Transthoracic radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive medical procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to generate heat and destroy abnormal tissue, such as tumors or heart tissue that is causing irregular heart rhythms, through the chest wall. It is performed under imaging guidance, typically using computed tomography (CT) or ultrasound, to ensure precise targeting of the affected area.
