Radiation-Associated Sarcomas

Definition

Radiation-associated sarcomas are a group of rare malignant tumors that develop in the previously irradiated tissue, typically as a late complication of radiation therapy. These sarcomas can arise from various types of connective tissue cells, such as bone, cartilage, muscle, or fat cells, and are characterized by their aggressive nature and potential to metastasize.
