Quadriceps Tendon Tear

Definition

A quadriceps tendon tear is a condition in which the tendon connecting the quadriceps muscles to the kneecap (patella) is partially or completely torn, leading to pain, swelling, and difficulty in leg movement. This injury can result from sudden forceful contractions of the quadriceps muscles, direct trauma to the knee, or degeneration of the tendon over time.
