Pulmonary carcinoid tumor is a rare type of lung cancer that originates from neuroendocrine cells in the bronchial lining. These slow-growing tumors can be either typical (less aggressive) or atypical (more aggressive) and may cause symptoms such as cough, chest pain, and wheezing.
