Posterior Total Hip Replacement

Definition

Posterior total hip replacement, also known as posterior hip arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure in which the damaged or diseased hip joint is replaced with an artificial joint (prosthesis). The surgery is performed through an incision made on the back (posterior) side of the hip. This approach aims to relieve pain and improve function for patients with hip arthritis or other hip joint disorders.
