Portopulmonary Hypertension

Definition

Portopulmonary hypertension is a rare medical condition characterized by increased blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, which carry blood from the heart to the lungs, in patients with portal hypertension, a complication of liver disease. This condition can lead to shortness of breath, fatigue, and ultimately right-sided heart failure if left untreated.
