Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL)

Definition

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove large kidney stones or multiple smaller stones from the kidney. It involves the insertion of a thin tube called a nephroscope through a small incision in the patient's back, allowing the surgeon to locate and remove the stones using specialized instruments.
