Pelvic Fracture

Definition

A pelvic fracture is a break or disruption in the integrity of the pelvic ring, which consists of the two hip bones and the sacrum. It can result from high-energy trauma, such as a car accident or fall from a significant height, or low-energy trauma in individuals with weakened bones. Pelvic fractures can range from mild to severe and may involve damage to surrounding organs and blood vessels.
