Pauci-Immune Glomerulonephritis

Definition

Pauci-immune glomerulonephritis is a type of kidney disease characterized by inflammation and damage to the glomeruli, the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys responsible for filtering waste and excess fluids from the blood. It is called 'pauci-immune' because there are few or no immune deposits found in the affected glomeruli. This condition can lead to reduced kidney function and, in severe cases, kidney failure.
