Nonunion of Distal Radius Fracture

Definition

Nonunion of distal radius fracture refers to the failure of a fractured distal radius bone to heal properly within an expected timeframe, typically around 6 months. This can result in persistent pain, instability, and limited wrist function. Factors contributing to nonunion may include inadequate immobilization, poor blood supply, infection, or underlying medical conditions.
