Muir-Torre Syndrome

Definition

Muir-Torre syndrome is a rare genetic condition characterized by the presence of sebaceous gland tumors, which are skin growths, along with internal malignancies, particularly in the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts. It is associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) and results from mutations in DNA mismatch repair genes.
