Methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) is a type of bacterial infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that are susceptible to treatment with methicillin and other beta-lactam antibiotics. MSSA infections can range from mild skin infections to more severe conditions, such as pneumonia, bloodstream infections, or surgical site infections.
