Definition

Marginal zone lymphoma is a type of slow-growing non-Hodgkin lymphoma that originates in the marginal zone of lymphoid tissue, which is the outer edge of lymph nodes, spleen, and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue. It is characterized by the abnormal growth of B-cells and can affect various parts of the body, including the stomach, intestines, salivary glands, and skin.
