Long Thoracic Neuropathy

Definition

Long thoracic neuropathy is a neurological condition characterized by damage or dysfunction of the long thoracic nerve, which innervates the serratus anterior muscle. This can result in weakness or paralysis of the muscle, leading to scapular winging and difficulty with shoulder movements. Causes may include nerve compression, trauma, repetitive strain, or underlying medical conditions.
