Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) is a mental health condition characterized by recurrent episodes of impulsive, aggressive, and violent behavior that is disproportionate to the triggering situation. Individuals with IED may experience intense anger, physical altercations, or destruction of property, followed by feelings of remorse or guilt.
