IgA Vasculitis

Definition

IgA vasculitis, also known as Henoch-Schönlein Purpura, is an autoimmune condition characterized by inflammation of small blood vessels, primarily affecting the skin, joints, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. It occurs when immunoglobulin A (IgA) deposits build up in the blood vessels, leading to inflammation and damage.
