Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Definition

Hepatocellular carcinoma is a primary malignant liver cancer that originates in the hepatocytes, the main functional cells of the liver. It is one of the most common types of liver cancer and is often associated with chronic liver diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C.
