Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy

Definition

Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure that involves using a thin, hollow needle to extract a small sample of tissue from a suspicious mass or lump. The collected sample is then examined under a microscope by a pathologist to determine the presence of abnormal cells and diagnose various conditions, such as cancer, infection, or inflammation.
