ER-Positive Breast Cancer

Definition

ER-positive breast cancer is a type of breast cancer in which the cancer cells have receptors for the hormone estrogen. This means that estrogen can promote the growth of these cancer cells. ER-positive breast cancers are typically more responsive to hormone therapy, which can help block the effects of estrogen on cancer cells.
