Eosinophilic Colitis
Definition
Eosinophilic colitis is a rare bowel condition characterized by the presence of an abnormally high number of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, in the colon. This infiltration of eosinophils leads to inflammation and can cause various gastrointestinal symptoms. The exact cause of eosinophilic colitis is not well understood, but it may be related to allergies, immune system dysfunction, or other factors.
