Enteroviral Meningitis

Definition

Enteroviral meningitis is an inflammation of the protective membranes (meninges) covering the brain and spinal cord, caused by enteroviruses. These viruses are common and can be transmitted through fecal-oral route, respiratory droplets, or contact with contaminated surfaces. Enteroviral meningitis is usually a self-limiting condition, but in some cases, it may lead to severe complications.
