Endobronchial Valve

Definition

An endobronchial valve is a small, one-way medical device that is implanted into the airways of the lung to treat severe emphysema. It works by redirecting airflow from diseased portions of the lung to healthier areas, allowing the healthier lung tissue to expand and function more effectively. This can improve breathing and overall quality of life for patients with emphysema.
