Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia

Definition

Cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP) is a rare lung condition characterized by inflammation and scarring of the small airways and air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs. This leads to impaired gas exchange and can cause symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, and fever. The exact cause of COP is unknown, but it may be triggered by infections, environmental factors, or autoimmune processes.
