Corneal dystrophy is a group of rare, genetic eye disorders characterized by the progressive accumulation of abnormal material in the cornea, the clear, dome-shaped outer layer of the eye. This accumulation can lead to loss of corneal transparency, vision impairment, and in some cases, corneal erosion or painful episodes.
