Cervicitis

Definition

Cervicitis is an inflammation of the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. It can be caused by various factors, including infections, chemical or physical irritations, and sexually transmitted diseases. Cervicitis may present with symptoms such as vaginal discharge, pain during intercourse, or bleeding between periods, but it can also be asymptomatic.
