Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

Definition

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a common inner ear disorder characterized by brief episodes of dizziness, spinning sensations, and unsteadiness triggered by changes in head position. It occurs due to the dislodging of calcium carbonate crystals in the inner ear, which disrupt the normal functioning of the vestibular system responsible for maintaining balance.
