Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF)

Definition

Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of a damaged intervertebral disc in the lumbar spine and the insertion of a bone graft or implant to promote fusion between the adjacent vertebrae.
