Ampullary Cancer

Definition

Ampullary cancer is a rare malignant tumor that originates in the ampulla of Vater, an area where the bile duct and pancreatic duct join and empty into the small intestine. This cancer can cause blockage of bile and pancreatic enzymes, leading to digestive issues and jaundice.
