Acute Decompensated Heart Failure (ADHF)

Definition

Acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) is a sudden worsening of the symptoms of heart failure, which occurs when the heart is unable to pump blood effectively to meet the body's needs. This can lead to fluid buildup in the lungs and other parts of the body, causing shortness of breath, fatigue, and swelling in the lower limbs.
