Internal Medicine

Biography

Katherine Copeland, MD, is an internal medicine/primary care physician. She cares for patients with a wide variety of conditions in the general medicine wards at Yale New Haven Hospital, at the Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center in New Haven, and with residents in Cornell Scott-Hill Health’s hypertension clinic, where visits are focused on blood pressure control.

Dr. Copeland was studying neuroscience when she became interested in internal medicine. “My desire to work with and help people intersected with my interest in science,” she says. “I enjoy managing patients longitudinally as their primary care doctor and in the hospital setting where I can help them with acute issues.”

Caring for the people who make up a local community is “an honor,” Dr. Copeland says. “There are so many inequalities and barriers to care and continuity, and I appreciate the opportunity to address some of these while working with patients.”
