Vascular Targeted Photodynamic Therapy

Definition

Vascular targeted photodynamic therapy (VTP) is a minimally invasive medical treatment that utilizes light-sensitive drugs and laser light to selectively target and destroy abnormal blood vessels, such as those found in cancerous tumors. By disrupting the blood supply to the tumor, VTP can effectively inhibit tumor growth and potentially lead to tumor shrinkage.
