Varicella (chickenpox)

Definition

Varicella, commonly known as chickenpox, is a highly contagious viral infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It typically presents as an itchy rash with small, fluid-filled blisters that eventually scab over. Chickenpox is usually a mild illness in children but can be more severe in adults and individuals with weakened immune systems.
