Twin Reversed Arterial Perfusion (TRAP)

Definition

Twin reversed arterial perfusion (TRAP) is a rare complication of monochorionic twin pregnancies, characterized by the presence of an acardiac twin receiving blood supply from a normal "pump" twin through abnormal vascular connections. The acardiac twin lacks proper heart development and is unable to survive, while the pump twin faces increased risks of heart failure and other complications.
