Tracheostomy Revision

Definition

Tracheostomy revision is a surgical procedure performed to correct or modify a previously created tracheostomy, which is an opening (stoma) in the neck and trachea (windpipe) to facilitate breathing. This revision may be necessary due to complications, such as infection, scarring, or obstruction, or to improve the function and comfort of the tracheostomy.
