Torn Meniscus

Definition

A torn meniscus is a common knee injury that occurs when the rubbery, C-shaped disc (meniscus) that cushions the knee joint is torn or damaged. This can result from a sudden twist or impact, or gradual wear and tear over time. A torn meniscus can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and limited range of motion in the affected knee.
