Thoracoabdominal Aneurysm

Definition

A thoracoabdominal aneurysm is a condition characterized by the abnormal bulging or dilation of the aorta, the main blood vessel in the body, as it passes through both the thoracic and abdominal regions. This can result from various causes, including atherosclerosis, genetic disorders, and trauma. The weakened aortic wall may rupture, leading to life-threatening internal bleeding.
