Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy

Definition

Small bowel capsule endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure that involves the use of a small, pill-sized camera to visualize and examine the entire length of the small intestine. The patient swallows the capsule, which then travels through the gastrointestinal tract, capturing images and transmitting them to a recording device worn by the patient.
