Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) Injury

Definition

A posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury is a condition involving damage to the PCL, one of the four main ligaments in the knee. The PCL helps stabilize the knee joint and prevent excessive backward movement of the tibia. Injuries can range from mild (partial tear) to severe (complete tear) and can result from sports activities, accidents, or falls.
