Liver Cyst

Definition

A liver cyst is a fluid-filled, typically benign sac that develops in the liver. The cyst often grows slowly and does not cause symptoms. It can be an inherited disorder (polycystic liver disease) or be caused by parasites (Hydatid disease). In some cases, liver cysts may cause discomfort or complications if they grow large or rupture.
